Things to Consider When You Book a Children’s Party Venue
Posted on April 17 2019
Finding the perfect children’s party venue is very tricky!!! After all, you have to make sure that you are covering all of your bases. Finding a place that kids and their parents love is a delicate balance. Luckily, Waterlemon has some pointers for those parents who are struggling with trying to keep everyone happy – and trying to make their little one’s birthday a memorable occasion!!!
Consider What Your Child Likes!!!
While it’s super important to find a place your child will love, it is just as important to find a place you want to spend a few hours in as well! While toddlers might really enjoy climbing and plenty of physical activity, children who have graduated from their toddler years might prefer more organized play. If your child enjoys a particular sport or hobby, then your job is much easier! Budding martial artists might love the interaction with a martial arts instructor. Young artists would enjoy a guided crafting session at a local art school or painting studio. If your child likes a particular TV show or book character, let them lead the way in terms of theme and decorations. The beautiful thing about having a party at Waterlemon is that the modern, clean, sophisticated canvas works for just about anything you and your little one could dream up. Let your imagination run wild and our staff will do everything in our power to make your vision come to life and ensure it’s an event to remember!
Beware of Hidden Costs
While some party venues charge up front for party hosts, attendants, or extras, others sneakily add this into the total cost. This could make for an unpleasant surprise when the bill arrives. Be sure to get your total cost in writing, and make sure to ask venue staff directly if there will be any additional costs long before you book your party. We at Waterlemon pride ourselves in doing open HONEST business with everyone who comes into our store whether as a day play guest or party host – there are never any hidden fees or “gotcha” items added at the end. Promise!
Think About Timing
While most veteran parents understand the need to book a party at the right time, many first-time parents might not have the experience to know that sleepy kids make for not-so-fun parties! A birthday party that takes place too early or too late in the day might interfere with bedtime, nap time, regular meals, and routines. Furthermore, a party booked in the middle of school vacation or on a weeknight might lead to low attendance – and a sad birthday boy or girl! So consider the ages of the invitees, school calendars, and book your party accordingly. Waterlemon offers two great party time slots: 10 am (before nap/lunchtime!) and 2 pm (after lunch/nap and before dinner!) You can also add additional time if it’s available and you’d like your party to run a little longer – just ask us and we’ll do our best to make it happen!
How Hard Do You Want to Work?
While many children’s party venues offer a range of party packages, consider how much planning you want to do before the party – and how hard you want to work as a host. If you prefer to be in control of the logistics and moving parts, or if you just really enjoy party planning, you might choose a venue that will let you bring your own food, décor, activities, and so on. If you are more hands-off and want to relax, think about booking a venue that includes décor, food, setup, and attendants to help facilitate activities and games.
Waterlemon offers two birthday packages to suit your style and budget. If you are looking to bring your own food and décor the Sweet Soiree is the way to go! But if you are looking for a full-service type of party that includes help setting up and a nice list of party add ons like a cake, pizzas, juice boxes, balloons and more – opt for the Party of the Century. Whatever you decide, the Waterlemon team is at your service! We are currently booking parties on Saturdays and Sundays year-round and our calendar is filling up quickly – so if you’re considering a party with us we suggest doing so sooner than later so as to secure your ideal day and time!
