Party FAQ's

In case you haven’t noticed…WE LIKE TO PARTY! Our bright, modern play space and café provide the perfect backdrop for memorable, stylish events that you, your guests and of course, your little ones won’t forget! And after 5 years of doing them, we have it down to a stylish science. 

The possibilities are endless, which can be both amazing and possibly a little overwhelming! To help get you started on your quest to throw the best bash ever, we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions that we receive about hosting a party at Waterlemon. We hope this helps you get a handle on the logistics so you can focus on the fun!

Q. What are your party package options?

A. We have 4! The Sweet Soiree, Best Fete Ever, All About Baby and The Petite Party.  You can read all about them here:  ALL ABOUT PARTIES!

Q. What time slots are available for parties?

A. Parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays only!

10:00 am – 12:00 pm (set up/clean up = 30 minutes before/after)
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm (set up/clean up = 30 minutes before/after)
* 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (set up/clean up = 30 minutes before/after) 

*6:00 pm parties must be booked by calling us at 708-286-6747 and are based upon staff availability. They will not be found on our website's booking calendar!

Additional time can be purchased for $100/half-hour $200/hour and is based upon availability.

Q. How do I know which dates and times are available?

Q. Does Waterlemon provide food and/or drinks?

A. It depends on which package you choose!

The Best Fete Ever comes with 2 pizzas, a cake or cupcakes and juice boxes for the kids.

The All About Baby package comes with 1 charcuterie platter (serves 12) 1 sweets platter (serves 12) and 1 veggie platter (serves 12). 

And the Petite Party comes with a pizza and cupcakes. 

The Sweet Soiree doesn't come with anything food-wise. 

Note: Regardless of what package you go with we allow outside food and drink from anywhere you'd like. We have a Preferred List of Vendors we can happily share with you as well once you book and you can even bring in wine or sparkling wine for a small fee. 

Q. Are there restrictions on what we can serve for food?

A.
The only restriction we have is that food cannot be cooked on-site. However, you are welcome to bring in any catered or homemade food you’d like!

Q. I know we can bring in alcohol, but are there restrictions?

A. The BYOW add-on for $60 allows you to bring in wine and sparkling wine ONLY – no beer, hard liquor, hard cider, etc. Also, we have a strict 6 bottle limit for wine and sparkling wine and these items must be put on the countertop facing the café so we can help you monitor your guests' consumption and ensure no little hands get hold of a bottle. You should plan to bring in your own ice and cups but we have a couple of beverage bins you can use!

Q. Are there any restrictions on decorations?

A. Due to the brief turn over time between party time slots, we kindly request that your decorations be mess free! Please avoid things like glitter, confetti and sand that linger long after the party is over. Pinatas are also not permitted nor are sparklers or sparkler candles. Other than that, pretty much anything goes! If you’re unsure, just give us a shout to doublecheck.

We do not allow any type of stickers or command hooks or tape on our walls.

Q. Are there any restrictions on entertainment?

A. No face painting, glitter, bubbles or pinatas allowed. No PA systems with loud speakers.

Magicians, movie characters, yoga teachers, musical groups and more are welcome with prior management approval. Due to the quick turn over time between party time slots, we kindly request that your entertainment be mess free.

Q. What is the maximum amount of people Waterlemon can accommodate for a party?

A. 55 is our max capacity for adults and children combined (with the max headcount for kids being 20).

All packages include the private rental of the café seating area, which will accommodate formal seating for up to 20 children and 12 adults. Additional pop-up chairs may be available upon request.

Reminder: Children of ALL AGES are welcome as guests at Waterlemon parties!

Q. Does Waterlemon handle set up and clean up?

A. Set up: A Waterlemon staff member will be on hand to assist, but hosts should plan to lead the charge with set up.

Clean up: While a Waterlemon staff member will be on hand to assist, party hosts are responsible for cleaning up after their parties. An additional fee may be charged for excessive spills, messes or damages. Cleaning supplies and trash bags will be provided by Waterlemon.

Q. What if you don't have a theme I want? 

A. While we have a TON of cute themes to choose from, it's obviously impossible to carry them all! So what we advise clients is to either A) go with the Sweet Soiree package and bring it all in yourself or B) if you want the BFE package, choose a corresponding base color for your party goods. For example, if you want Peppa the Pig, which we don't carry, we'd advise you to go with a pink cup/plate/napkin and then "layer" Peppa over it with items you get from Etsy or Amazon. Such as goodie bags, favors, balloons, garlands, etc. 

PLEASE NOTE: children of ALL AGES are welcome as guests at Waterlemon parties! 

Q. Do you guys do the balloon arches?

A. We don’t do the balloon arches in-house; we only supply helium-filled balloons at this time. While you are welcome to use any company you like, we do have a few companies we use frequently and

Q. We will only have 5 children attend the party, can you do a discounted rate? 

A. We do not discount our party packages based on headcount. Regardless of how many guests you have, you are renting our entire space for your private event; which means we have to close our play area to the public. We’ve had parties with as few as 3 children right up to parties with 20 and everything in between! The price is the same. If budget is a concern, consider our weekday Petite Party option!
